Steering Committee Meeting Minutes from September 17, 2007

Call to order: 6:40 PM

Members Present: Bob Fay, Jen Golden, Rosemary Norton, Dorothy DioGuardi, Florence DioGuardi, Jim Reinhard, Emil Alecusan, Rachel Korzan, Cyndi Hofacre, Pat Silagy-Wesson, Peggy Paden, and Lyn Milnes

Old Business:

Fifth Third Bank cancelled lunch meeting with Bob Fay once they found out that it would be another 2 years before they could try to buy 30th and Market lot; Fifth Third is not willing to support Market Heights
Janet Weir Creighton suggest that we talk to Randazzo and the Realtor who is selling the lot; also need to talk to community to find out what would be the best solution for this lot
Party in the park was enjoyed by all once again! We had a total of 22 families attend; total expenses were $1,424.00

Secretary's Report: given by Jen Golden

Approval of January, March, May, July, and September minutes will be made at the November 19th Committee Meeting

1st Vice President’s Report: given by Darryl Paden

Total membership dues $2,856.00 for 2007
Suggestion was made to possible have block coordinators hand deliver membership fliers
Memberships are down because we have not had as many newsletters going out in 2007

2nd Vice President’s Report: Crime Report given by Pat Silagy Wesson

Total calls for July 2007=36
Total calls for August 2007=21

Treasurer’s Report: given by Lyn Milnes

Total Membership and Revenue=$6,978.00
Expenses for 2006=$2,568.00
Revenue over expenses=$4,410.00

New Business:

Annual Meeting will be held on November 1, 2007 at 6:30pm; several people that are running for office in the city of canton will be invited to speak; after a 5 minute speech from each officer we will vote for Market Heights Committee Members for 2008
Canton City Police with a dog will be patrolling Market Heights Neighborhood starting Thanksgiving and going until New Years.
Suggestion was made to possibly be able to make membership payments online
Al from Rice's Nursery planted new grown cover on park hill on September 17, 2007
