The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.In attendance; Mike Zelle, Bob Morrow, Bob Fay, Krysten Neal, Rachel Korzan, Eil Alecusan, Rick Miller, Pat Silagy-Wesson, Cyndi Hofacre, Virginia Gingrich.
Excused Absences; Darryl and Peggy Paden and Gus Pirovolos.
Minutes from our previous meeting were read. August 16, 2004 was put into the minutes, read and a motion to accept was made by Bob Fay, 2nd was made by Cyndi Hofacre. Motion carried.
Laura Sampsel was not in attendance to report on MHNA membership.
Bob Morrow passed around his Block Report Summary of Activity of Market Heights. Break-ins, Alarms, Illegal Parking violations were reported in August and September. Bob Morrow contacted the Protection agency MHNA had worked with the previous year, only to find that they had gone out of business. The company had split into two groups. A discussion on when to start up the security surveillance of the neighborhood was set for 5 days before Halloween, then continue a light tour during November up until Thanksgiving and continue throughout the holidays a bit heavier into the New Year. A motion was made to start-up Security rounds every third day during the week of Halloween up and until the Holiday season by Cyndi Hofacre and 2nd was by Bob Fay, motion carried.
Bob Fay reported on the finances as of October 18, 2004. Memberships and Revenue total $17, 913.00.The Checking Account Balance as of tonight's meeting totals; $18,800.00.Mike Zelle has expenses to hand over to Bob Fay at tonight's meeting. A letter from the IRS was sent that we didn't respond to a letter dated on September 9, 2004.Bob retrieved the necessary information and faxed it directly to the IRS.501C3 should be issued soon. 1st Vice President needs to check mail more frequently, the Church is open on Tuesdays. A motion to accept the Treasurer's Report was made by Krysten Neal and 2nd was by Bob Morrow, the motion carried.
Party in the Park was within the budget. Canton Chair and Rental sent a 10% discount coupon for our next Party in the Park. Barricades were not quickly collected after the Party. Cyndi Hofacre had a few ideas for next year's festivities such as; History of Canton being the theme, calling on the new Wal-Mart to send a donation, A carriage or hay ride for the kids. Suggestions were to call upon the Classic Car museum and Marilyn Thomas-Jones for any historical timelines, etc. .The Garage Sale in October was good, but, there were some complaints that the Church didn't have or ran out of maps. The signs were very visible at the end of each street. Any Co-ordinator needs to be contacted for an e-mail address or if they wish to continue being the contact person for their area. The newsletter will ask for any volunteers, email addresses, etc. The Directory was distributed at the Party in the Park to the paid members that attended. Any paid member that did not attend, their directory was sent to the Area Co-ordinator for distribution.
Grant Moneyto be used for the web-site. A motion was made to expedite the set-up and design of the new web-site by Bob Morrow and 2nd by Rachel Korzan. Motion carried. Landscaping and new signs has been postponed until the Spring. Newsletter items to include are; An apology to neighbors for the absence of Security at Hall of Fame time, a Thank-You to all neighbors that keep their lawns and homes looking wonderful throughout the year, to report any suspicious activity to your Co-ordinator or to simply call the authorities, and finally to notify neighbors of the General Meeting on November 6, 2004. It will be at 9:30 am until 11:00 am and Marilyn Thomas-Jones will be asked to speak.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Cyndi Hofacre and 2nd was made by Rachel Korzan. Motion carried, meeting adjourned at 9 p.m.
