The meeting was called to order by 2nd Vice President Bob Morrow, filling in for President Mike Zelle's absence, at 7:05 p.m.. Invocation for the evening's meeting was given by Daryl Paden. Special Prayers went out to the Pirovolos family and the Karagiannides family.

Secretary's Report:

The minutes from the January Steering Committee meeting were read. Motion to accept the minutes as were printed was made by Bob Morrow, 2nd was made by Cyndi Hofacre. Motion carried. A 2nd motion was made to purchase a mixed assortment of Boxed Greeting cards was put on the table for sending out to members of MHNA. The acting secretary would purchase the cards. Motion was made by Rachel Korzan and 2nd by Virginia Gingrich, motion carried.

1st Vice President:

Laura Sampsel was not in attendance. In her absence, 3 MHNA membership dues were collected and given to Krysten Neal, she would pass onto Bob Fay for deposit.

2nd Vice President:

Bob Morrow handed out a current activities report. Total number of incidents for the Market Heights area for 2004 was 213. The 2005 year has 31 incidents thus far. Those incidents were from January and February, no recorded incidents for March at this time.

Treasurer's Report:

Bob Fay was not in attendance. Financial statements and current memberships at this time are not available. Our next meeting we should have detailed information on both.

Old Business:

Landscape and signage for the Neighborhood. At this time we are still without the signs at both traffic islands. Mike Zelle and Brian Rice, of Rice's Nursery, have worked out some of the landscaping plans.

New Business:

Mike Zelle needs a Financial statement concerning the Grant 2004 monies we received. Bob Fay and he will have to get together on that.

Garage Sale: The Spring sale is almost upon us. Dates for the Garage Sale will be April 22, and 23, 2005. The Garage sale will run between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. both days. Rachel Korzan made the suggestion that the maps be available at the Market Heights Church again. People coming to the sales in the neighborhood really love having the maps and each participating neighbor should have a map hanging in view for buyers to see where they would like to go next. Different colors of paper for each day should be used and also which home will be participating which day (or both) should be noted on the map. Rachel will contact the Lamiells about the maps.

Newsletter and Web Items: Any newsletter items should be sent to Mike Zelle, any web items that you would like posted should be sent to James Golden. A discussion about what should be current on the new website included the minutes from the Steering Committee Meetings. The minutes would be sent to the Officers first, read then submitted to James Golden for posting on the website. Also, the History section on the website now does not reflect the membership dues now. They state that the dues are $15.00, they are $24.00 per household. It also states that Mason Elementary goes from Kindegarten through sixth grade. It should state that it only goes through fifth. Our Meetings that are bi-monthly should state that they are Steering Committee Meetings, not General Meetings. We have that meeting once a year, usually in October or very early November. Also, the Party in the Park date would be September 10, 2005 from the hours of 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.. Name change suggestion was our Annual Community Block Party. Rachel Korzan made a few announcements about Community events. One, was the annual "Celebrate Neighbors" Dinner on April 19, 2005 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. John's Church on McKinley Ave. She sent a sign-up sheet around the room for those that wish to attend . It will be a dinner and a program, also those that applied for the Grant from the Stark Community Foundation will receive their neighborhoods. Second, N.A.V.E., will be holding an open platform on Wednesday April 27, 2005 from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. for the 2005 Candidates, they will receive questions from the community. The event will be held in the McKinley Room at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.

Our meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
