Steering Committee Meeting Minutes from March 20, 2006
Call to order: 7:00PM
Members Present: Bob Morrow, Darryl & Peggy Paden, Pat Silagy Wesson, Jen Golden, Rachel & Tiffany Korzan, Niki DiCola, Rosemary Norton, Tim Hisrich, Rick Miller, Tammy Lamiell, Linda Cook, and Krysten Neal
Excused Absences: Gus Pirovolas, Michelle Trbovich, Cindy Hofacre, Marie Malernee, Marilyn Poulos, Emil Alecusan, Ron & Dionne Hight, and James Golden
Minutes Approved: Motion to approve meeting minutes for January made by Bob Morrow and Pat Silagy Wesson
1st Vice President’s Report: given by Darryl Paden
- Market Heights membership cards given to Area Coordinators to distribute to paid members
- As of March 19, 2006: 121 people paid, 7 free members, and 5 new members
- Total Membership Fees collected: $2,544.00 ($386.00 Security and $263.00 General)
- Darryl Paden and Pat Silagy Wesson will deliver cards to Area Coordinators not present at meeting
- Motion to approve report made by Rick Miller, Bob Morrow, and Jen Golden; Krysten Neal voted motion all present members approved
2nd Vice President’s Report: given by Pat Silagy Wesson
- Number of calls and complaints in February are up by 8 more calls from January
- 31st Street home had paintball vandalism to garage; few more reports of paintball incidents on Harvard
- Area 6 has new Area Coordinator Tim…
- 35th Street had an issue with car parked on the street; car was moved and issue was resolved by Bob Morrow
- Motion to approve report made by Bob Morrow and Krysten Neal; all approved attending the meeting
Treasurer: no report given
Old Business:
- Area Coordinators had been given list to call and get information for the Directory; this information is needed by April 2006
- Rick Miller gave CD to Jen Golden to put on website that shows aerial view of neighborhood
- 30th Street and Market home sold for $59,500.00
- Karl Kraus followed up on tennis court repair and said no money to take care of them now
- May still try to get grant for tennis courts
- 252 32nd Street home was looked at by Karl Kraus and he talked with Joe Carbenia stating this was a code issue
- Motion was made to move new election meeting to November 4th all approved at meeting
- Cyndi Hofacre is currently working on party in the park
- Neighborhood Association Grant Meeting on April 11th at 6:00 PM; anyone wanting to attend needs to contact Bob Morrow for tickets; this is a free event
- Marilyn Thomas Jones said our Grant for 2006 was favorably viewed
- Doug Perry has extra city flag needed for the park; suggestion was made to have Canton City Police and Firemen, supply city flag for the park, since it is a memorial park for fallen police officer
New Business:
- Garage Sale on May 5th and 6th for those participating and want to be listed on neighborhood map, need to contact Rachel Korzan at 330-493-1611
- Steve Lamiell will be putting up signs for Garage Sale
- New Pastor and new church at 32nd Street and Market; offered to allow us to meet at church for same cost; may consider next year when CJCC commitment has ended; pastor wants to participate in Garage Sale and will allow maps to be placed at church
- Decided to try out Canton Police for Neighborhood Security on a random basis
