Twenty-one incidents were reported for the month of June. Most incidents were of Alarms due to summer months activities. The newsletter had a great affect on people calling in to report. Pat received two calls right off the bat. Further discussion was to determine the amount of security to patrol during the H.O.F. festivities and past statistics. Bob Morrow motioned to accept the Safety report and 2nd was made by Darryl Paden. Motion carried.
Treasurer's Report was handed out to all. A look at the finances up to this point show that total memberships and revenue are at $9,635.00. Revenue over expenses shows $4,189.00. Balance to date is $17,364.00.
Bob Morrow passed around a copy of the Grant. He has been in contact with Marilyn Thomas-Jones to clarify the Grant Status. We will move forward on the traffic islands. Bob is also in contact with City Representatives for all permissions to proceed with the plantings and signage. Each one contacted is excited about the prospect of the neighborhood adopting common areas. They would like to see the idea implemented throughout the city. City Engineer, Dan Moeglen will implement a protocol based on what our neighborhood implements. Rice's will proceed with the landscaping and Akers will create the signage.
Another discussion followed about the Park itself including the basketball court and tennis courts. An adhoc committee will be formed to come up with ideas, plans, etc. to present in the future to Rosemary Diamond and City Park Department.
Community Block Party slated for September. Cindy Hofacre presented she plans to once again contact Party Animals for their inflatables and a "Sticky Wall". Also a Caricature Artist to appear. Suggestions made and Cindy will move forward with all plans.
Discussion to move forward on how to handle ordinance violations, such as, parking on front lawns, business vehicles parked on streets, etc. It is not the duty of the Watch Area Coordinator to confront or issue any citations. It is to be kept on top of the violations, so they do not spread throughout the area.
Leadership training: Bob Morrow will attend the next training session for the 2006 year. Pat Silagy-Wesson also stated the interest to attend. James Golden reported that the training is very positive and empowering.
