Steering Committee Meeting Minutes from January 17, 2005

The meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. Several members were unable to attend the meeting. In attendance were Mike Zelle, Laura Sampsel, Krysten Neal, Rick Miller, Cyndi Hofacre, Pat Silagy-Wesson, Emil Alecusan, Virginia Gingrich.

Secretary's Report:

Minutes from our December 13, 2004 meeting were read by all in attendance. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Virginia Gingrich and 2nd was made by Cyndi Hofacre.

1st Vice President:

Laura Sampsel had made an announcement that she would be resigning her position as 1st V.P. She would still be able to fulfill her duties as Watch Area Coordinator. She would update us at the March meeting with any further news and details.

2nd Vice President:

Bob Morrow was not in attendance. However, there was a report of destructive activity in the 32nd/Harvard area. More information would be forthcoming at the March meeting.

Treasurer's Report:

Bob Fay was not in attendance. Mike Zelle had a bill from the Security patrol for the month of December and New Year's Day. He is going to submit the bill to Bob for payment.

Old Business:

The Website is up and running. Info will be posted about the Garage Sale in the Spring, a note about the dues for 2005 will also appear on the website. Area #22 have new Coordinators, Ezra and Marie Malernee. Also, The Stark Foundation will be awarding Small and Large Grants again to the neighborhood Associations. We will be applying for the Small Grant so that we can again ask for funds to cover the Party in the Park, Flags, Directories, Newsletters, Security Patrols, etc.

New Business:

Landscaping and Signage for the Park Area: Mike will be getting in touch with Gus Pirovolos about working on getting the signs done for the Traffic islands.

By-laws: A review of the By-laws is needed. Details on duties, elections, etc. needs to be re-written and looked over.

P.R.I.D.E.: At one of the Stark Foundation meetings Mike met with new neighborhood association people expressing concerns abut their neighborhood, Highland Terrace. To help them get up and running Mike suggested to donate seed money for them to bring their neighbors together. A motion was made by Emil Alecusan to donate $75.00 to P.R.I.D.E., 2nd was made by Krysten Neal. Motion carried.

Our meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
