Steering Committee Meeting Minutes from December 13, 2004

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. In attendance; Mike Zelle, Laura Sampsel, Bob Morrow, Bob Fay, Krysten Neal, Rick Miller, Virginia Gingrich, Emil Alexusan, Pat Silagy-Wesson, Cyndi Hofacre and James Golden. The Invocation was given by Mike Zelle.

Secretary's Report:

The minutes from the October 18, 2004 meeting were read. A motion to accept the October 18, 2004 minutes were made by Bob Morrow and 2nd by Emil Alecusan.
Motion carried.

1st Vice President:

Laura Sampsel reported that 239 member paid for the year 2004. Our first
membership dues came in for 2005 from Ezra and Mareie Malernee.

2nd Vice President:

Bob Morrow had a Block Report Summary update us on the area activity. Tenable Security has been patrolling since the end of October and will continue to do so until after the New Year. He reported that one incident was with the Security patrol. The Security officer was being followed by a van and was told that he didn't like the yellow lights on the Security car. The police were notified and handled the situation.

Treasurer's Report:

Bob Fay reported to this date MHNA currently has $17,089.00 in the Checking Account and $50.00 in the Savings Account. Some expenses were incurred and an Invoice for the Security company was handed over to Bob Fay. Also, a check for the 2005 Membership dues was passed down from Laura Sampsel.

Old Business:

James Golden reported on the status of the Market Heights Website. It is set to be launched in January 2005. Discussion of what the website will have posted would be the date of the next meeting for our neighborhood, news or history of Market Heights, Links to other areas, and a Calendar of Events. Other items were also discussed. James will be at the next meeting with more details.

New Business:

Membership fliers for 2005. Goal for 2005 is for 300 members to join MHNA.
Mike is going to contact Marilyn Thomas-Jones for tips and suggestions about the flierand getting neighbors to join MHNA.

Grant 2005 Application: A suggestion was made to invite Rosemary Diamond to one of our Steering Commitee meetings. The January meeting will be devoted to ideas for the Grant for Stark Community Foundation.
